Drivers Will Be Eliminated

Or at least that’s what former General Motors Vice Chairman Bob Lutz says. According to this article which was on Yahoo Finance yesterday, the technology exists now for cars to drive themselves. Lutz predicts within 20 years, all cars will drive themselves.

Of course, if the technology exists where cars (and trucks, of course!) can drive themselves, do you really think the government is going to ALLOW you to drive your car? Of course not! Only the computers will be allowed to drive the cars, and then only at times and days of the government’s choosing. If I want to go play checkers with my buddy, or go fishing, it has to be on my assigned day to drive, or I’m out of luck.

As far as work goes, I guess I’ll need another career. But then again, so will several million truck drivers, and a handful of DOT agents.
